Our travel consultant Isabelle recently had the pleasure of spending a week at the spectacular ski resort Club Med La Rosière in the French Alps, she shares her experience of the vacation in her own words.

Upon arrival at Lyon’s airport, the Club Med transfer shuttle was waiting for me to take me on a scenic drive up the mountain to the resort. Along twisty and windy roads, the scenery of small authentic French villages throughout the journey was a delight.

Arriving at Club Med was such a delight, the check-in was very easy and the staff very inviting. I was given a lovely bracelet to wear for the week that would work as my room key and ski locker key. Once settled into my beautiful deluxe room with views of the French Alps right outside my balcony, I was ready to explore. I went down to the ski lockers to find my rental ski equipment all there, ready to go. The lovely staff helped me set my bindings, and it was time to hit the ski hill! The entire process was made incredibly easy thanks to Club Med’s app “My Club Med”, which helped me with my arrival, having my ski equipment ready to go, ski lessons booked and my credit card information already on file.

The resort is located in the Tarentaise mountain range at an altitude of 1950 meters, with the ski area topping out at 2800 meters. The panorama views over the Vanoise National park are exceptional, and the resort boasts a total of 8 green and 25 blue slopes for beginners, and 35 red and 14 black runs for the more advanced skiers.

The ESF (École du ski française ) provides ski & snowboard lessons for all levels and it’s the perfect way to get to know the mountain better. The ski domaine is quite large so it’s a nice option to be shown around by one of the locals. You can even ski to La Thuile in Italy for the day. How fantastic is that?

La Rosière offers 2 restaurant options. Le Mont Valezan is a buffet, marketplace style offering lots of different delicious options for everyone; including raclette, croissants and many types of cheese. San Bernardo bistro offers an À la carte dining experience and features delicious cheese fondue. The Hannibal Bar is where everyone meets after a full day of skiing for drinks and snacks. It’s a cozy, inviting space with lots of comfy chairs and couches.

The resort also offers a great spa, gift shop, as well as a quiet space just for adults. La Rosière offers wonderful kids clubs for children ages 0-17 years, so the parents can spend some time alone.

For people that want to explore the area a little more, you can take the complimentary shuttle or simply make the short walk down to the little town of La Rosière for some local shopping or try an éclair at the bakery. For those seeking adventure, you can also try out the thrilling luge experience.

The overall experience, from start to finish was exceptional, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Club Med. Everything was included from beginning to the end and I experienced top-notch customer service, incredible meals and tasty drinks throughout my stay.

La Rosière is absolutely wonderful and I highly recommend it to families looking for an unforgettable ski holiday!
